Ceramic Coating

Ceramic Coatings and their benefit

Ceramic coating is the result of advances in Nanotechnology and remains at the cutting edge of automotive protection technology  with constant advances and improvements throughout the years. Ceramic  bonds to paint, glass, metal, and plastic at a molecular level,  effectively becoming a functional element of the vehicle’s surface. This  coating’s hard hydrophobic, glass-like finish helps to protect your  vehicle from weathering, UV-damage, industrial and organic fallout,  acids, alkalines, light wash-marring and abrasion for up to 2-years  whilst making it easier to clean than ever before. If you find  maintaining your vehicle’s beauty a challenge, it’s time to experience  the CQuartz legend for yourself...

Features:

  • Hybrid coating for extreme reflections, gloss, "self-cleaning", and resistance to oxidation)
  • Extremely  durable hard glossy coat, which can help, protect against acid rain,  bird droppings, corrosive traffic film, tar and harmful UV rays for more  than 2 years.
  • Offers a  deep, rich gloss with self-cleaning properties, making future washing of  your vehicle, faster and easier. Ceramic can prevent 50% of light wash  marring.
  • CQuartz  contains ceramic nano-particles found within glass  creating a highly reflective, transparent layer offering  incredible durability
  • Average thickness of each Ceramic layer is approximately 1µm ~ 2µm.
  • Once  applied, Ceramic forms a strong bond directly to the paint becoming one with the painted surface and offering a true sacrificial barrier to the  environment.
  • Ceramic  active ingredients form a precise and uniformed level layer, giving strong water and oil repellency and resisting most stains on the paints surface.
  • Resists extremely high temperatures.  Feel free to coat engine components, etc. that correspond to the materials shown.

Applications:

  • Paint
  • Wheels
  • Chrome
  • Metals
  • Plastics

After Tips:

  • Avoid washing with soap for the first 5 days

Maintenance:

  • Wash with PH Balanced Car Wash soap regularly
  • Treat with decontamination wash every 3-6 months (Depending on vehicle usage)
  • Additional glossifiers can be added after wash (ask us), but wax is not an option as it will not adhere to the ceramic.

      Q & A:

1. Approximately how many microns will (1) coating of Ceramic add to the paint?  Between 1 ~ 2 microns

2. Can Ceramic be applied to single stage paints of any age? This depends  on the paint type.  There are many different types of single stage  paint. If it’s very old it may remove some of the paint.  We tested on acrylic paint and it didn’t work so well. Remember this is not to  replace clear coat.  Clear coat has 20~30 microns minimum.

3. What temperatures will Ceramic withstand before failing?  Watch tthe flame resistance video on car paint below. At  approximately 1500 to 1800 deg. paint would peel from the vehicle. See  the video below, It’s really impressive and shows how well Ceramic is bonded to paint.

4. What about other coatings claiming to last forever? First, there are no other products on the market that have been tested and show actual research to prove thickness and durability claims. Like the age old saying goes, "nothing is forever" the same is true for your clear coat just like ANY ceramic coating. Ceramic can last many years IF MAINTAINED PROPERLY but none last forever and if they claim they do you may want to choose another  product that has research and professional support within the detailing community like Cquartz rather than marketing gimmicks and hype.
